On my feet 12+ hours a day on busy medical floor these shoes are a lifesaver. This is my second pair, first was white, prefer the black and I think the finish has improved and seems more durable but time will tell if this is true.

I was very disappointed in my recent puchase of the Birkenstock allpro g500. The sole that I have on my previius pair was very forgiving whereas the new sole is not nearly as flexible. The shoes are hard to wear and beat up my feet. I hope to be able to return them for a pair that I can use.

I swore by quality cross trainers for work, I'm a RN, because of my history of knee and low back injuries. My best friend swore by the Alpro G500 to the point he told me to get them, wear them for 6 weeks, and if I didn't like them, he would pay me for them and buy me a new pair of "shoes" like I was using before.
I'm online today to order my 6th pair of the G500's. I work a lot of hours and spend most of those on my feet. These will last me about 12-18 months at work. (I'd go through 2-3 pair of cross trainers in the same amount of time.) After that I wear them "out" or just around the house for several more years. Those times Iqw'm not standing for 12 hours straight, so it works out...

This Birkenstock footbed seems to be different than others I have had in the past. It is built up on the sides and very unforgiving. I do not usually have trouble with shoe fit and I do not have a wide foot. The footbed does not seem to want to mold to my foot. I have been trying to break in these shoes for at least six months. I am a nurse and am on my feet for 10-12 hours for a shift. I took these shoes to a shoe repair man, but he was not able to help me. I am still wearing them some hoping that they will get better, but usually have to change to other shoes midway through my shift and go home with sore feet! They were too expensive to just throw away, but I certainly would not recommend these to others.
